Privacy Policy

Effective October 28, 2026

In short: IEUM has no accounts. We do not collect, store or sell your personal data. The sound you share goes directly from your device to your friends' devices on the same network — it never passes through our servers. Rooms shared from a browser use a small connection server (run on Cloudflare) only to help devices find each other; it keeps nothing once the room closes. The only advertising partner is Google AdMob, which shows ads in the Android app.

1. Who we are

This policy covers the IEUM apps for Android and iOS, the website ieumlisten.com (including sharing and listening in the browser), the IEUM Chrome extension, and the room code page on GitHub Pages (together, "IEUM"). IEUM is made by an individual developer. Contact details are at the end of this page.

2. Shared audio

When you start sharing, IEUM captures the sound playing from the apps you choose and sends it directly over your local network (the same Wi-Fi or the host's hotspot) to the devices that join.
The audio is not recorded, stored, or sent to us or anyone else.
Android requires the microphone permission to capture other apps' sound. IEUM does not record your surroundings with the microphone.

3. Information shared on your local network

To let nearby devices find and join a room, the host's device shares the room name (your device model name unless you change it), its local IP address, and whether the room has a PIN, with devices on the same network.
Room codes, QR codes and invite links contain the host's local IP address and room PIN. In invite links this part comes after the "#", so it is not sent to the web server when the link is opened.
None of this is sent to us.

4. Permissions

Microphone (Android) — required by Android to capture app audio, as described above.
Notifications — to show that sharing or listening is in progress.
Nearby Wi-Fi devices (Android 13+) or location (Android 12 and below) — only to turn on the hotspot. IEUM does not use or collect your location.
Local network (iOS) — to find and connect to rooms on the same network.

5. Advertising (Android app)

The Android app shows banner ads provided by Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, and to personalize them where allowed, Google may collect information such as your device's advertising ID, device and app information, IP address, approximate location derived from the IP address, and how you interact with ads. This data is collected by Google, not by us, and is handled under Google's privacy policy.

If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, IEUM asks for your consent through Google's consent form before showing ads. You can change your choice at any time in Settings → Privacy options in the app.
You can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of personalized ads, in your device settings (Settings → Google → Ads).

The iOS app, the website, the Chrome extension and the room code page do not show ads.

6. Website and browser sharing

When you share from a browser (ieumlisten.com or the Chrome extension) or listen to such a room, the audio still goes directly between devices on your local network (WebRTC). It is not sent to our server.
To connect the devices, your browser, the extension or the app talks to our connection server at ieumlisten.com, which runs on Cloudflare. It handles the room code, the room name, the number of listeners, and connection setup messages that contain your devices' local network addresses.
To show you only rooms on your own network, the server groups devices by public IP address. It keeps only a shortened, hashed form of the network part — not your IP address itself.
This information exists only while the room is open and is deleted when the room closes. If a room ends abnormally, its entry is removed from the room list the next time anyone on that network opens the list after 12 hours. Only the hashed network value described above may remain, with no room name attached.
As our hosting provider, Cloudflare processes IP addresses and keeps standard request logs; see Cloudflare's privacy policy.
The website uses no cookies or analytics. Your browser stores the room name you choose and your last room code on your device only.

7. Chrome extension

The extension captures the sound of only the tab you choose by clicking its icon, and only until you stop sharing or close that tab.
It does not read the content of web pages, your browsing history, or other tabs.
The room name you enter is stored in the extension's storage on your device only.

8. Room code page

The room code page runs entirely in your browser and uses no cookies or analytics. It is hosted on GitHub Pages, which may keep standard server logs such as IP addresses; see GitHub's privacy statement.

9. Data retention and deletion

We do not keep your data. Connection information on the connection server is deleted automatically when the room closes, as described above. Settings such as your room name are stored only on your device and are removed when you uninstall the app or extension, or clear your browser data.

10. Children

IEUM is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

11. Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and its effective date.

1. 적용 범위

이 방침은 안드로이드·iOS용 이음 앱, 웹사이트 ieumlisten.com(브라우저에서 공유·듣기 포함), 이음 크롬 확장 프로그램, GitHub Pages의 방 코드 페이지(이하 "이음")에 적용됩니다. 이음은 개인 개발자가 만들었으며, 연락처는 이 페이지 맨 아래에 있습니다.

2. 공유하는 소리

공유를 시작하면 이음은 사용자가 고른 앱에서 나는 소리를 받아 로컬 네트워크(같은 Wi-Fi 또는 호스트의 핫스팟)로 참여한 기기에 직접 보냅니다.
소리는 녹음·저장되지 않으며, 개발자나 다른 누구에게도 전송되지 않습니다.
안드로이드는 다른 앱의 소리를 받으려면 마이크 권한을 요구합니다. 이음은 마이크로 주변 소리를 녹음하지 않습니다.

3. 로컬 네트워크에 공유되는 정보

근처 기기가 방을 찾아 들어올 수 있도록, 호스트 기기는 같은 네트워크의 기기에 방 이름(바꾸지 않으면 기기 모델명), 로컬 IP 주소, 비밀번호 설정 여부를 알립니다.
방 코드·QR 코드·초대 링크에는 호스트의 로컬 IP 주소와 방 비밀번호가 담깁니다. 초대 링크에서 이 부분은 "#" 뒤에 있어 링크를 열 때 웹 서버로 전송되지 않습니다.
이 정보는 개발자에게 전송되지 않습니다.

4. 권한

마이크(안드로이드) — 위에서 설명한 대로 앱 소리를 받기 위해 안드로이드가 요구합니다.
알림 — 공유 중·듣는 중임을 표시합니다.
근처 Wi-Fi 기기(안드로이드 13 이상) 또는 위치(안드로이드 12 이하) — 핫스팟을 켤 때만 씁니다. 위치 정보를 이용하거나 수집하지 않습니다.
로컬 네트워크(iOS) — 같은 네트워크의 방을 찾아 연결합니다.

5. 광고 (안드로이드 앱)

안드로이드 앱은 Google AdMob이 제공하는 배너 광고를 보여줍니다. Google은 광고를 게재·측정하고, 허용된 경우 맞춤 광고를 위해 기기의 광고 ID, 기기·앱 정보, IP 주소, IP 주소로 추정한 대략적인 위치, 광고와의 상호작용 등을 수집할 수 있습니다. 이 정보는 개발자가 아닌 Google이 수집하며 Google 개인정보처리방침에 따라 처리됩니다.

유럽경제지역(EEA)·영국·스위스에서는 광고를 보여주기 전에 Google 동의 양식으로 동의를 받습니다. 앱의 설정 → 개인정보 보호 설정에서 언제든 바꿀 수 있습니다.
기기 설정(설정 → Google → 광고)에서 광고 ID를 재설정·삭제하거나 맞춤 광고를 끌 수 있습니다.

iOS 앱, 웹사이트, 크롬 확장 프로그램, 방 코드 페이지에는 광고가 없습니다.

6. 웹사이트와 브라우저 공유

브라우저(ieumlisten.com 또는 크롬 확장 프로그램)에서 공유하거나 그런 방을 들을 때도, 소리는 로컬 네트워크에서 기기끼리 직접(WebRTC) 전달되며 개발자의 서버로 전송되지 않습니다.
기기를 서로 연결하기 위해 브라우저·확장 프로그램·앱은 Cloudflare에서 운영되는 ieumlisten.com의 연결 서버와 통신합니다. 이 서버는 방 코드, 방 이름, 듣는 사람 수, 그리고 기기의 로컬 네트워크 주소가 담긴 연결 설정 메시지를 다룹니다.
같은 네트워크의 방만 보여 주기 위해 서버는 공인 IP 주소로 기기를 묶습니다. IP 주소 자체가 아니라, 네트워크 부분을 줄여 해시한 값만 보관합니다.
이 정보는 방이 열려 있는 동안만 존재하며 방이 닫히면 삭제됩니다. 방이 비정상적으로 끝난 경우 그 항목은 12시간이 지난 뒤 같은 네트워크에서 누군가 방 목록을 열 때 지워집니다. 방 이름 없이 위에서 말한 해시 값만 남을 수 있습니다.
호스팅 제공자인 Cloudflare는 IP 주소를 처리하고 일반적인 요청 기록을 남깁니다. Cloudflare 개인정보처리방침을 참고하세요.
웹사이트는 쿠키나 분석 도구를 쓰지 않습니다. 직접 정한 방 이름과 마지막 방 코드는 브라우저(기기)에만 저장됩니다.

7. 크롬 확장 프로그램

확장 프로그램은 사용자가 아이콘을 눌러 고른 그 탭의 소리만, 공유를 멈추거나 그 탭을 닫을 때까지만 받습니다.
웹 페이지의 내용, 방문 기록, 다른 탭은 읽지 않습니다.
입력한 방 이름은 기기의 확장 프로그램 저장소에만 저장됩니다.

8. 방 코드 페이지

방 코드 페이지는 브라우저 안에서만 동작하며 쿠키나 분석 도구를 쓰지 않습니다. GitHub Pages에서 호스팅되며, GitHub은 IP 주소 등 일반적인 서버 기록을 남길 수 있습니다. GitHub 개인정보처리방침을 참고하세요.

9. 보관 및 삭제

개발자는 사용자의 정보를 보관하지 않습니다. 연결 서버의 연결 정보는 위에서 설명한 대로 방이 닫히면 자동으로 삭제됩니다. 방 이름 같은 설정은 기기에만 저장되며 앱·확장 프로그램을 삭제하거나 브라우저 데이터를 지우면 함께 지워집니다.

10. 아동

이음은 만 13세 미만 아동을 대상으로 하지 않으며, 아동의 개인정보를 알면서 수집하지 않습니다.

11. 변경

이 방침이 바뀌면 이 페이지와 시행일을 갱신합니다.
